The Acquafraggia Campsite is located in a mountain area at 500m by the beautiful Acquafraggia waterfalls and is just 3 km from the historic town  of Chiavenna.
The campsite, which nestles in woods alongside a river, can accommodate up to 180 persons and offers modern and efficient services. With a mild climate and  a favourable  position the campsite is a useful  base for  many outdoor sports activities. It is also ideal  for visiting the surrounding area, with its famous valleys and mountains of the central Alps and its beautiful lakes.

    HIKING - TREKKING
    Hikes starting from the campsite:

    1) Chiavenna (20 min.)
    2) Acquafraggia waterfalls (1 h.)
    3) Savogno and Dasile (1.30 - 2 h.)
    4) Cranna (45 min.)
    5) Monti di Piuro (1.30 h.), traverse across the Monti to Uschione
    6) Lago dell'Acquafraggia (4 h.), traverse into the Valle di Lei (10 h.)
    7) Corbia (3 h.)
    8) Vita-Parcours, 3 km round running track with gymnastic equipment; starting at the upper side of the camping ground.

    Lots of other hiking possibilities in the Bregaglia, Splügen, Chiavenna valleys (look up "Bergell - Die schönsten Wanderungen" and other guidebooks available at the reception).


     

    MOUNTAINEERING
    within 20 min. by car: most beautiful ascents in granite at Badile, Cengalo, Sciora Group, Albigna Valley;
    within 20 to 60 min. by car: classical mountaneering in the Bregaglia and Bernina groups.

    information at the reception.     		FREE CLIMBING
    all year round climbing at the many cliffs of Valchiavenna; within 20 to 60 min. by car: ascents in granite at Spazzacaldera (Albigna) and in Val di Mello. Climbing in limestone in the Grigne and in the surroundings of Lecco. Lots of possibilities, Bouldering included, look up the register "Valchiavenna Climbing News" and various climbing guides available at the reception.

    Gole di Boggia (Bodengo 1/2/3), guided tours, various levels of difficulty.

    MOUNTAIN BIKE
    Various possibilities on mountain roads with little traffic.
    Possibilities to rent a bike.

    FISHING
    Trout fishing is possible with licence in the Acquafraggia and Mera torrents, in mountain brooks and lakes.

    Great routes over the alpine passes (Splügen, Maloja, Julier, Bernina etc.)

    MUSHROOMING
    2 kg max. per head; use an open basket.

    Madesimo - 20 min. away from the camping, by cableway Sky Express from Campodolcino. In Engadine - within 45 min., Sils - Furtschellas, Corvatsch, St. Moritz - Corviglia.

    CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
    In Engadine, 300 km of tracks! Beginning at Maloja Pass, 45 min. away from the camping.

    ICE-SKATING
    In Chiavenna, within 3 km, Centro sportivo Valchiavenna, open from November to March.
